Limited Edition of 100, Numbered and Signed by Phil Bucher
High-Quality Silkscreen Print
Hand-Printed by Julian Käser at Siebdruck27 in Zürich
Phil Bucher is a Swiss Photographer calling the Alps his home. His homeland is mostly defined by stunning landscapes and beautiful mountains. Everyone can make a good picture with a drone from a nice sunset on a mountain lake.
It is a quest for an alternative perspective that keeps Phil hooked. For him, this change of perspective happens while hiking. It takes time, could be cold, wet, and tiring, but it is away from civilization with challenging conditions when the magic happens.
Belalp, Valais, Switzerland: On the last weekend in August, hundreds of sheep return to Belalp from their summer residence on the Aletsch alp in the wold famous glacier region.
Around 700 blacknose sheep, with their characteristic black areas on their heads and legs, make a fascinating picture.
The time of the creation of the photography is the division of the sheep into the Färriche. After the counting of the sheep, in the hope that all sheep have returned from the alp, there is a fitting celebration.
